The studio suite and adjoining small hotel with 8 bedrooms and comfortable lounges offers the ideal location for pre-production, live sessions and the opportunity to unwind before and during your recording. The Scottish Borders and the Yarrow Valley in particular allow inspiration and creativity to come to the fore in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
The poet James Hogg and novelist Sir Walter Scott frequented this building many years ago and perhaps some of their creative influence still lingers within these walls.
One Day Recording
A day at Big Sky Studios will give enough time to discuss your project with our resident engineer Tom Roseburgh who will guide you through the various steps required to produce a finished CD product to take away by the end of the day.
There will be time for lunch in the Hotel dining room or a snack and drink in the comfortable lounge bar area.
The complete day package will be GBP 200 including the lunch time meal for one or two people and the completed CD.

Weekend Recording Package
This package is suitable for a larger project with solo artistes or a small group of musicians. All the facilities of the studio will be made available during the weekend and the live room can be used for working up ideas even though the engineer is not always present. When the hard work is over for the day the artistes can enjoy a meal in the hotel dining room or a drink at one of our warm and comfortable bars. Overnight accomodation in one of The Gordon's comfortable bedrooms is offered at a preferential rate.
The exact cost of a weekend package will depend on the numbers involved and the technical details of each individual recording session.

Major Projects
If you have a major CD project then please come and discuss it with us. We can assist you from the conception right through to the delivery of the CD
If you have original works requiring publishing then through our associate company Brigside Music Publishing Ltd. we can register and secure the rights of your music with MCPS and PRS.
Once again the hospitality of The Gordon Arms will be at your disposal at preferential rates for both meals and accommodation.
